When talking about Grand Teton National Park, almost everyone automatically thinks of the iconic Teton range. I swear I can draw it from memory and I am terrible at drawing. Grand Teton National Park is known for its dynamic range that juts up from the valley floor to over 13,000 feet elevation. This little corner of Wyoming has so much diversity of landscape and recreation. One of our favorite things to do in Wyoming is document a Grand Teton National Park elopement.
Grand Teton Elopement Day
The air was cold and the sky dark when we woke up. We packed up our bags and drove to the trailhead. On the way, the mountains began turning pink as the sun rose from behind the mountains to the east of us. We rendezvoused at the trailhead with Justin & Carla and began our hike. The hike was about 5 miles with almost 3,000 feet of elevation gain. The sun began beating down during the early morning part of the day but we kept hydrated and finally saw the alpine lake we had come in search of. Within minutes of reaching the lake, we found ourselves jumping in. It was quite refreshing.
After drying off, and warming up in the sunshine, and refueling, Justin & Carla began getting ready. Carla wore a dress from Bloom Bridal Nashville and they both wore their Chacos. Iconic. We explored the area, documenting their love and marriage. With cheers from fellow hikers, they enjoyed exploring together and basking in their love for each other. We then began our descent down the mountain and back to the cars. After reaching the bottom, our legs were screaming but we ended up getting Dornan’s Pizza. We met up at a parking lot with a view of the mountains we just hiked in, ate pizza, laughed, and enjoyed fellowship.
