The salt air was cool and damp on the island one quiet August morning. There was a soft fog settling in at Sand Beach in Acadia National Park, a perfect day for an elopement. We met up with Julia & her family in the Sand Beach parking lot just after sunrise and awaited Kameron and his family’s arrival. Julia’s mom owns Blooming Berries Farm & grew, dried, and made Julia’s bouquet. Once Kameron arrived he and Julia had an emotional first look as they saw each other in their wedding attire for the first time. Now, all together we set out for Sand Beach & a short hike on the nearby cliffs. The soft fog drifted in and a cool breeze came off the ocean. They truly could not have asked for a more quintessential Maine day.
We set off with Kameron & Julia and their families for their Sand Beach Elopement.
They had an intimate ceremony on the rocky coastline performed by Julia’s sister. After the ceremony, we snuck in a few photos on their wedding rock & hiked on. We arrived at the mid-way point of the hike & set up some blankets. They had muffins and coffee as it was not even 8 a.m.
We then looped back to Sand Beach and it was much busier than when we had arrived earlier that morning. Taking a few more images of Kameron & Julia, we aimed to capture the essence of whimsy. They understood the assignment and we had so much fun with them. Capturing their love story on Sand Beach in Acadia National Park is a beautiful memory we now get to share.
