Jess & Matt met on Mount Desert Island a few years ago and recently rekindled their relationship. They are MDI residents and decided to have a winter elopement in Acadia National Park. We met up with them on a chilly afternoon at Thunder Hole. The sun tried to peek through the cloud cover to help keep us warm, but the cold wind from the ocean chilled our faces and noses. We kept moving to keep our blood flowing, we clutched our hand warmers and tried to keep our cameras warm. Jess had a heating pad taped into her shawl to keep her warm. We took some photos by the sea and then headed over to a state park on MDI for their intimate ceremony.
Their guests huddled around them wrapped in wool coats, hats, and mittens. The air was cold but the warmth of their love kept us going. After the ceremony, we all headed over to the Ivy Manor Inn in Bar Harbor for appetizers and more photos.
Jess & Matt are proof that you can have a winter elopement in Acadia National Park and have an amazing day!
