Preparations
Amanda & Michael found us on Tiktok back in 2023 and reached out about us documenting their summer Cadillac Mountain Elopement the following June. We connected with them over Facetime and began planning their day. They knew they wanted their close family and friends to be present and wild lupines to be a part of their day. Lupines are a wildflower that grows on the coast of Maine in early June. They are often found blooming alongside the roads on Mount Desert Island or in privately owned fields. We searched for the perfect spot and finally found a good patch of lupines. This would be the perfect addition to their summer Cadillac Mountain elopement.
The Day Of
We began their elopement day at an Airbnb in Ellsworth. Amanda and Michael got ready with their family and friends, and Emmy does Hair did Amanda’s hair & makeup. Once everyone was ready, we headed to MDI for their “first look” in the lupines. Michael waited among the lupines for Amanda to approach. After their first look, they exchanged their vows in private among the wildflowers and aspen trees.
We drove to the top of Cadillac Mountain and found a secluded corner overlooking the ocean for their ceremony. After the ceremony, their family and friends returned to their Airbnb to prepare a meal and we took photos at the summit. We had some extra time so we drove down to Otter Cliffs and finished the day taking photos high above the water. Overall it was the perfect spring day for a summer Cadillac Mountain elopement.
